Businesses enjoy more export orders in early days of 2024
Many have boosted production to meet new export orders.
A rise in export orders during the opening days and weeks of 2024 has prompted many Vietnamese businesses to work to recover and stabilize production and trade while retaining their workforce.
A recent survey on the export situation early in 2024, conducted by the General Statistics Office (GSO), showed that 22 per cent of respondent companies said they had a high number of new export orders while 45 per cent have stable numbers.
The survey also showed that 24.6 per cent expect an increase in the number of new export orders, while 46.8 per cent predict stable order numbers and 28.6 per cent foresee a decline in the first quarter of the year.
CEO of the Loc Troi Joint Stock Company Huynh Van Thon said the company has won a bid to export 65,000 tons of rice. In order to fulfil the contract, 3,600 employees of the company returned to work on February 15 to resume production after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luan, Founder of the Meet More coffee brand, said that after the Tet holiday his company exported 18 tons of coffee to Australia, and has boosted production to export another batch of coffee to the US.
A representative from the Forever True Ltd. Co, which specializes in manufacturing toys for export, said export orders are forecast to increase from now to the second quarter of the year.
