Investors requested to accelerate construction of rest stops along North-South expressway
The Ministry of Transport set the target of completing 8 rest stops before December 31 this year.
The Vietnam Department of Expressways under the Ministry of Transport (MoT) has asked relevant agencies, investors and contractors to accelerate construction of eight rest stops along the eastern North-South expressway project.
Recent reports from management boards of these projects showed that the implementation has been lag behind schedule.
Some obstacles relating to site clearance were not handled properly, negatively affecting the project’s progress.
The department requested investors of projects that completed site clearance to urgently complete related procedures and speed up construction to put the rest stops into operation, meeting demand of travellers along completed sections of the expressway.
Relating to those projects that still face difficulties in site clearance and compensation, the department asked investors to coordinate with local authorities and relevant agencies to take measures to deal with.
The MoT set the target of completing the eight rest stops before December 31 this year.
