Vietnam's gaming revenue on track to exceed $430 mln in 2025

With billions of downloads, over 3,000 active studios, and a growth rate that ranks among the world's highest, Vietnam's gaming industry is experiencing a strong and steady rise.

According to data from Google announced at the recent Gameverse conference, Vietnam currently ranks number one globally for game downloads on Google Play, with 6.1 billion downloads in 2024—equivalent to over 11,600 downloads every minute.

When including the iOS platform, data compiled by GameGeek—a platform connecting Vietnam's gaming ecosystem—shows that games developed in Vietnam recorded a total of 9.6 billion downloads in 2024.

In the first six months of 2025, this figure has already reached 5.2 billion. If the current pace is maintained, total downloads for the full year are projected to surpass 10.3 billion, representing a growth of over 7.7% compared to the previous year.

Notably, with the aforementioned 5.19 billion downloads, games from Vietnamese studios now account for a remarkable 37.3% of the global market share for game application downloads. This means that for every 10 games downloaded worldwide, approximately 3 to 4 are developed in Vietnam.

In terms of revenue, games released by Vietnamese studios generated approximately $315 million in 2024. In the first half of 2025, this figure has already reached at least $214.85 million.

If the current growth trend continues, revenue for the full year 2025 is projected to exceed $430 million, representing a 36.4% increase compared to the previous year.
