Tea exports earn $189 mln in 9M
Vietnam exported 108,000 tons of tea in the nine-month period.
Vietnam exported 108,000 tons of tea in the first three quarters of the year, earning $189 million, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The figure represents a year-on-year increase of 31.9% in volume and 34.2% in value.
In September alone, 15,000 tons of tea were shipped, worth $26 million, up 39.1% year-on-year in volume and 39.3% in value.
Vietnam is the eighth largest tea exporters in the world, with products shipped to over 70 countries and territories. Among them, Pakistan is the biggest importer. Other key export markets include China and the US.
It is forecast that tea export revenue for 2024 would reach $299 million, surpassing the record of 2011.
In 2023, Vietnam exported 85,000 tons of tea, worth $157 million.
