The Trang An Landscape Complex in northern Ninh Binh province will be developed into one of the most attractive tourism sites in Vietnam and the world and become a growth driver for the province and the Red River Delta region.

This is among the targets set under a master plan on the preservation and restoration of the Trang An - Tam Coc - Bich Dong special national landscape site in Ninh Binh by 2030 with a vision to 2050, which was approved recently by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.

Trang An was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2014.

The plan covers an area of over 9,600 ha and aims to preserve the outstanding global values of the heritage site, cement strategies and development orientations in Ninh Binh province, and realize Vietnam’s commitment to UNESCO regarding the conservation and promotion of heritage values.

It will also create a legal basis for attracting investment to the complex and boosting the role of the local community in preserving and promoting its value.

Ninh Binh welcomed 4.53 million tourists in the first half of this year, including 224,000 foreign visitors. Total tourism revenue was estimated at over VND3.8 trillion ($160 million), a 2.94-fold increase year-on-year.
