Phu My power plant transferred to Vietnamese Government as BOT contract expired
The plant in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province expected to contribute 4.6 billion kWh to the national grid annually.
The Phu My 2.2 thermal BOT power plant in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province was transfered to the Vietnamese Government (acting through the Vietnam Electricity) on February 4, according to the BOT contract.
The 715 MW gas-fired combined cycle power facility operates under a BOT contract involving MECO, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), and other stakeholders. MECO is a joint venture between the EDF International (EDFI), the Sumitomo Corporation, and the JERA Co., Inc. (JERA).
The operational term of the power plant under the BOT contract expired on February 4.
The plant was officially put into commercial operation on February 4, 2005.
After the transfer, the plant is expected to contribute some 4.6 billion kWh to the national grid each year.
