Vietnam continues its ambitious infrastructure push with the groundbreaking of a key expressway segment, utilizing a public-private partnership to accelerate completion of the vital North-South corridor.
The Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee has approved a list of projects seeking investment in urban areas and residential areas in six districts. The northern province is calling for investment in 13 projects on a total of more than 427 ha. To date, 138 projects in new urban areas and residential areas have been approved by the People’s Committee, of which 17 have been completed.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has allowed the Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee to change the use purpose of 72 ha of rice land in the northern province’s Hiep Hoa district to non-agricultural land to build the JUTECH Industrial Complex.
To attract investors and develop the socio-economy, northern Bac Giang province has proposed investment in a series of transport infrastructure projects, such as Hanoi’s Ring Road No. 5 and an inland port and logistics center to leverage the potential of international rail transit.
Working with leaders from northern Bac Giang province on June 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked the locality to continue to implement three strategic breakthroughs. Holding distinct potential, comparative advantages, and outstanding opportunities, and being rich in resources, Bac Giang is an attractive destination for domestic and international investors. The province ranks ninth in the country in terms of FDI attraction.
The Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee has approved planning for a series of new urban areas and residential areas, including many large-scale projects on as much as 125 ha. Under the approved planning, the northern province’s urbanization rate will stand at 55-60 per cent by 2030, with 29 urban centers, while 23 urban areas are planned, featuring services associated with industrial parks, amusement parks, resorts, and sports centers.
The Prime Minister has approved the master plan for northern Bac Giang province in the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050. The plan sets a goal that, by 2030, Bac Giang will become a modern industrial province and be among the 15 cities and provinces in the country with the highest gross regional domestic product (GRDP). By 2050, it will become a modern, comprehensive, and sustainable industrial province.
The Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee on February 17 approved a list of social housing projects and adjusted a list of urban and residential projects seeking investment. Over recent years, the northern province’s industrial sector has developed rapidly, creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs and triggering major demand for sufficient accommodation.
