Dr. Can Van Luc, Chief Economist at BIDV, has said there are many positive factors enabling the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) to open up credit space in September. These include liquidity in the banking system being fully under control. Medium and long-term capital flows are stronger, and the proportion of short-term and medium-term capital has improved markedly.
On July, 29, the “Tax on e-commerce and cross-border digital services: International experience and Vietnamese practice” conference was held by the Institute of Financial Strategy and Policy in cooperation with General Department of Taxation. Analysts believe that tax revenue from e-commerce could skyrocket with control over cross-border trading and payment transactions for digital services based on completing a legal corridor and using technology.
The price of many strategic materials under pressure from global uncertainties remains the greatest “unknown” that may “shake” the control of inflation over the second half of the year. According to analysts, however, there is still ample opportunity to keep inflation at below 4 per cent.
In the context of risks from high inflation, economists believe that investments in assets such as gold and real estate are safe-haven channels for investors and individuals.
