At the Horasis 2022 India Economic Cooperation Forum on September 26 in southern Binh Duong city in the province of the same name, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam said that “through the Forum, we can jointly assess and carefully consider the impact of regional, inter-regional, and global issues with the prospects of recovery and comprehensive and sustainable development of Vietnam and India. In particular, we have a voice to strongly encourage the development of innovative solutions, going beyond the traditional way of thinking to achieve practical results in a context of the unpredictable.”

Opportunities to come from India taxing rice exports
The President of the Indian Rice Exporters Association has said that the introduction of a tax on rice exports from September 9 will benefit rice suppliers in major food-growing countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Pakistan.

New shipping line to smooth Vietnam - India trade
The potential for trade between Vietnam and India is significant and may reach $15 billion this year. One bottleneck, however, is in transport, especially the absence of direct sea routes connecting the two countries. The newly-opened shipping line connecting central Vietnam with India and Bangladesh, operated by the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC), will resolve this problem.
