Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien has said that under the plan, 34 petroleum wholesalers are to import 500,000 cubic meters in October. At the end of September and in mid-October there were more than 3 million cubic meters on hand, with November imports to meet supply until the middle of the month. There is clearly no shortage, but sales are difficult.
Despite a trade surplus of $470,000 being posted from October 1 to October 15, total trade value was down 12.6 per cent in the period compared to September. Such results show that, as the end of the year approaches, signs of decelerating trade are becoming clearer in the context of rising inflation in most countries around the world. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is implementing a number of solutions to reach the trade target of over $750 billion in 2022 and to keep trade in surplus.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade held the “Connecting production and consumption of commercial products in mountainous, remote areas and islands in 2022” forum on October 5. To help products from these areas reach out to the world, the Ministry will link markets for exporters, bringing goods from these regions to distribution channels in domestic and foreign markets.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has reported that electricity both produced and imported for the power network reached 204.359 billion kWh in the first nine months of 2022, up 6.3 per cent over the same period of 2021 but 1.898 billion kWh lower than the 2022 plan.
