The Binh Duong Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has said that as of September 21, nine out of nine districts, towns, and cities in the southern province had employers and employees submitting applications to benefit from the policy on housing rental support for employees under Decision No. 08/2022/QD-TTg. Binh Duong has spent more than VND832 billion ($35 million) on rental support for more than 1.2 million workers, with a disbursement rate of 85 per cent.
At an August 12 meeting to spur the implementation of the policy on housing rental support for employees, which is currently disbursing funds quite slowly, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said the country must basically complete disbursement by August 30, except for Ho Chi Minh City, which accounts for nearly one-third of beneficiaries, with full disbursement to be completed by early September.
Vietnam Social Insurance on July 26 announced the results of its policy on rental support for employees under Decision No. 08/2022/QD-TTg. Nearly 2.7 million workers have received such support to date, while some 3.4 million in total are to be beneficiaries of the policy, which has a budget of VND6.6 trillion ($282 million).
