The government has decided to appoint contractors in a series of bidding packages for 12 component projects of the second phase of the Eastern North-South Expressway project in the 2021-2025 period. Construction is to begin shortly and be basically completed in 2025.

In a draft government resolution to build 729 km of the Eastern North-South Expressway in the second phase, the Ministry of Transport (MoT) proposed a series of specific mechanisms to shorten the timeframe and ensure that construction of 12 component projects gets underway before December 31. The project will be basically completed in 2025 and put into operation from 2026.
