The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has said that the 2013 Law on Employment prescribes many policies to support employment but limitations have been revealed during implementation. It has proposed that policies be added to support labor market development, create sustainable jobs, improve incomes, and expand unemployment insurance for beneficiaries as well as workers overseas.
At an August 12 meeting to spur the implementation of the policy on housing rental support for employees, which is currently disbursing funds quite slowly, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung said the country must basically complete disbursement by August 30, except for Ho Chi Minh City, which accounts for nearly one-third of beneficiaries, with full disbursement to be completed by early September.
According to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA), 81,429 people went to work abroad in the first seven months of 2022, or 90.8 per cent of the annual plan. Meanwhile, there are currently more than 111,000 foreign workers in Vietnam.
