Vietnam's Airfare Inspection Reveals No Violations, But Room for Improvement
A recent inspection by the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) into airline ticket sales, pricing, and disclosures has found no violations of government regulations. However, the review highlighted inconsistencies in how airlines present fare information to consumers and a lack of awareness regarding promotional offers.

Aviation industry surpassing expectations
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has sent a report to the Ministry of Transport on the state of the aviation market in the first half of 2022. The domestic market has completely recovered and “boomed” in June, according to the report, with an increase of 38.8 per cent compared to pre-pandemic. The international market is also recovering gradually as airlines increase flight frequency and reopen or open routes.

More flights to take to the skies
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has officially increased flight frequency on certain international routes and is closely monitoring the situation with a view to actively increasing domestic flights when many routes post occupancy rates of up to 90 per cent as Tet approaches.

Domestic airlines to operate normally from 2022
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has proposed removing existing flight frequency limits so that from 2022 all domestic routes will return to normal operations. Most reopened routes are being operated at a frequency of one flight per day.

CAAV proposes increase to flight frequency on major routes
Flight numbers were quite low during the first days of a pilot reopening of domestic flights, at just 50 per cent of those scheduled. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has proposed increasing flight frequency to six flights a day on the three largest routes in the country - Hanoi-Da Nang, Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang-Ho Chi Minh City.
