At the January 15 event, Party General Secretary To Lam called for more efforts to place Vietnam among the top three Southeast Asian countries for digital technology research and development by 2030.
According to the Ministry of Information and Communications, more than 3,400 new digital technology enterprises appeared in Vietnam in the first half of 2022, bringing the total number to 67,300, or 0.69 enterprises per 1,000 people. Vietnam has set a target that, by 2030, there will be 100,000 such enterprises, attracting $30 billion in FDI and contributing 6-6.5 per cent of GDP.
