APEC workshop seeking solutions to supply chain risks
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has worked with APEC members to hold the “APEC Workshop on Opportunities and Challenges for GVCs [global value chains] during the Covid-19 Pandemic and Post-Pandemic Economic Recovery” on October 13 and 14 in Hanoi. Analysts have proposed a range of solutions to overcome the risks from supply chain disruptions.
Many businesses have faced disruptions from Covid-19.
Industry associations propose solutions to avoid supply disruptions
Industry associations have proposed delaying increases to land rentals, extending grace periods, deferring payments of taxes and fees, and reducing registration fees to assist production and business during the Covid-19 pandemic. They have also suggested dedicated places at factories for eating and resting, and that employees be limited to travelling on the same route to and from work. Other measures may be necessary, depending on the characteristics of each locality.
