Transport still affected by global economic recession.

Transport activities in December continued to post positive growth in both passenger and freight transport.

General Director of Vietnam Railways Dang Sy Manh told the 42nd ASEAN Railway Directors General Meeting, held in Da Nang from August 23 to 25, that Vietnam’s railway development orientation is to promote freight transport and open international links.

The T&Y SuperPortTM Company - a joint venture between the T&T Group and Singapore’s YCH Group - signed a memorandum of cooperation with Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Railways (VNR) in Hanoi on August 12 to promote and develop Vietnam’s logistics sector and improve freight transport capacity between Vietnam and elsewhere.
