Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has instructed ministries, sectors, and localities to take decisive action to achieve this year’s economic growth target of 8.3–8.5%.
At the August 7 meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged identification of key measures to ensure flexible and effective responses to evolving challenges, including reciprocal US tariffs, and to achieve the ambitious 8.3–8.5% growth target for 2025.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Phan Van Mai told a regular meeting that the city will exceed its annual growth target of 6-6.5 per cent. He proposed speeding up the disbursement of public investment capital, which is still quite slow, so that it reaches 22.3 per cent of the assigned plan.
