The detailed planning for four resettlement areas in Hau Giang province serving the Mekong Delta’s Can Tho - Ca Mau Expressway project is expected to be completed this month. The province has agreed to invest VND246 billion ($10.5 million) in the four resettlement areas. The Expressway stretches nearly 111 km with total investment of nearly VND29 trillion ($1.24 billion).
Under a development plan for the 2021-2025 period, the Mekong Delta’s Hau Giang province will focus on developing under four key pillars: industry, agriculture, tourism, and urbanization. The province is expected to outlay more than VND113 trillion ($4.8 billion) on developing industry and logistics in the period, to have three major logistics centers by 2025.
The Mekong Delta’s Hau Giang province has approved planning for the development of industrial parks (IPs) and service-urban areas for local IPs in the 2021-2030 period. Ten IPs are on the planning list, with a total area of more than 3,900 ha. There will be six in Chau Thanh district; the largest number in a single locality.
The Mekong Delta’s Hau Giang province has set a target of investing nearly VND4 trillion ($174.73 million) in the 2021-2025 period in technical infrastructure at ten industrial clusters with a total area of nearly 550 ha, and to boost occupancy to over 80 per cent. The province also plans to develop five additional industrial clusters by 2050, bringing the total to 15 with a total area of nearly 908 ha.
