The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam has proposed a project to the Ministry of Transport on upgrading three national highways in the Mekong Delta: National Highway No. 53, National Highway No. 62 and National Highway No. 91B, with a total investment of nearly VND7.2 trillion (nearly $310 million), of which World Bank (WB) loans will total nearly VND5.4 trillion (nearly $233 million). Project implementation is four years, from 2024 to 2027.
Four national highways at the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City, namely National Highway 1, National Highway 13, National Highway 22 and National Highway 50 are expected to be upgraded and expanded in the period of 2021-2025.
