Railway Law undergoing review
The Railway Law 2017 is being reviewed and evaluated by units to identify specific amendments and supplement policies suitable to the new circumstances and to revive railway transport and promote the inherent advantages of this mode of transport. The competitiveness of railway transport compared to other modes is low, with the market share of passengers and cargo declining every year.

Construction of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat airport to begin in Q4
Construction of Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, with a capacity of 20 million passengers a year, is expected to begin in the fourth quarter and be put into operation in 2024, helping to increase capacity to 50 million a year. The city’s People’s Committee has approved a plan to recover 16 ha for construction.

Authorities to consider building Lai Chau Airport
Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh has assigned relevant authorities to consider a proposal from the Lai Chau Provincial People’s Committee to build Lai Chau Airport, at a cost of VND8 trillion ($344.77 million) and under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. With a capacity of catering to 500,000 passengers a year and with a land area of 117 ha, it will be an important driving force for development in the northern mountainous province.
