Seven bilateral cooperation documents signed within the framework of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping's State visit to Vietnam from April 14-15.
According to the Ministry of Transport’s recently-issued green energy transformation action plan, five modes of transport - road, railway, inland waterway, maritime, and aviation - must all be converted to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions targets by 2050. The plan clearly identifies eleven key projects in the development of green transport infrastructure, with total funds of more than VND3 quadrillion ($128.3 billion).
A breaking ground ceremony was held on February 7 in the presence of State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc for the construction of a road in northern Ha Nam province linking the Hanoi - Hai Phong Highway and the Cau Gie - Ninh Binh Highway. Costing VND702.82 billion ($31.05 million), the link will help reduce traffic in the inner Hanoi area and attract more investment.
Two key coastal road projects in northern Thanh Hoa province will begin construction in October, with total investment of VND5.6 trillion ($247.22 million), and are expected to help the province fulfil its development and tourism potential.
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) plans to simplify documents and procedures to facilitate cross-border road transport between Vietnam and its neighbors.
