Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh approved urban master planning tasks for 2045 and vision to 2065 on October 19. Central Thua Thien-Hue province is to become a centrally-run municipality by 2025, becoming one of Vietnam’s major centers for science and technology, high-quality education, and training by 2030, and a festival city and center of culture, education, tourism, and special health of Asia by 2045.
At the regular government meeting for May on June 4, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for the accelerated disbursement of public investment capital, ODA capital, and foreign concessional loans, especially for key national projects, faster economic restructuring, growth model transformation, and development of the digital government, digital economy, and digital society, stronger promotion of green transformation and equitization, and a continued focus on handling longstanding issues and projects.
As an important transport gateway, northern Hai Phong city has an open economy that could become deeply involved in international trade. To gain economic breakthroughs in 2022, the city has defined six tasks, including the dual goal of controlling the pandemic and developing the economy, developing transport and industrial infrastructure, assisting businesses, improving the labor market, and accelerating digitalization.
