International leaders from global fluorine production and trading businesses attended the International Fluorine Forum 2022 in Hanoi from October 11-14.
Infrastructure construction at the Song Cong II Industrial Park in northern Thai Nguyen province’s Song Cong city, on 250 ha and with total investment of over VND1.7 trillion ($71.5 million), is a key project in the locality. The province has proposed increasing investment by nearly VND600 billion ($25.2 million), while also delaying implementation to 2023. Thai Nguyen has only six industrial parks on a total area of 1,420 ha.
Northern Thai Nguyen province has adjusted and supplemented its Housing Development Plan in 2022. It will now implement 290 housing projects and urban areas on a total area of 6,680 hectares this year, 17 communal housing projects on a total area of more than 115 hectares, and 24 projects on housing for resettlement on a total area of 250 hectares.
The Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee has issued investment licenses to three urban projects in Thai Nguyen city and Song Cong city. With a total land area of nearly 300,000 sq m and capital of some VND780 billion ($33.63 million), the three projects will contribute to easing housing demand.
Northern Thai Nguyen province held a breaking ground ceremony on May 12 for a road linking it with nearby Bac Giang and Vinh Phuc provinces. With total investment of nearly VND3.8 trillion ($164.19 million), the 42.5-km road will also connect with highways to Hanoi, helping to attract investment in Thai Nguyen and neighboring provinces and contributing to building Thai Nguyen into a center of the northern midland and mountainous economic region.
The Samsung Electro-Mechanics project in northern Thai Nguyen province has been in operation since 2015, with total investment of $1.35 billion and more than 6,500 workers. The project has been granted an amended investment license, to invest an additional $920 million. It produces an array of semiconductor chips and electronic components and parts for high-tech mobile and telecommunications equipment, among other items.
Northern Thai Nguyen province is to build an industrial park (IP) costing VND793 billion ($34.71 million). Expected to come into operation in 2024, the IP will cover an area of 74.8 ha and aims to attract businesses in the fields of manufacturing technology, electronic components, supporting industries, apparel, handicrafts, and other industries.
