The Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway stretches 220 km and connects southern Dong Nai province and the central highlands’ Lam Dong province, playing an important role in socioeconomic development in Lam Dong and the wider central highlands region. The Ministry of Transport and Lam Dong province are therefore moving to complete procedures and soon begin construction of two component projects, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu and Tan Phu - Bao Loc sections, with total investment of more than VND24.5 trillion ($1.05 billion) in the public-private partnership (PPP) form.
The task of planning the central highlands’ region for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050 has been approved. The plan aims to develop large tourist centers and form thematic tourist routes specific to the central highlands and to build expressways and upgrade the intra-regional transport network and routes connecting central highlands’ provinces with the southern region, the south-central coastal region, southern Laos, and northeast Cambodia, etc.
