Additional funding announced for six key traffic projects
The Ministry of Transport has announced a list of six key traffic projects to use additional central budget capital of nearly VND87.5 trillion ($3.6 billion) from the recovery program: the East North-South Expressway phase 2, Dai Ngai Bridge on National Highway No. 60 in Tra Vinh and Soc Trang provinces, and the Cao Lanh - An Huu, Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau, and Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Highways.

New regulations on inland waterway works
The Ministry of Transport has issued Circular No. 21/2022/TT-BGTVT stipulating the management and maintenance of inland waterway infrastructure works. The Circular applies to organizations and individuals involved in the management and maintenance of inland waterway infrastructure works and takes effect from November 1.

MoT to simplify regulations
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) is developing a plan to reduce and simplify eleven regulations relating to business activities in registration and inland waterways, with some regulations and compliance costs removed completely. The ministry plans to reduce and simplify 54 regulations this year.

Upgrades for HCMC - Nha Trang railway link
The Ministry of Transport has approved a project to upgrade the section of the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line from the southern city to Nha Trang, with total investment of nearly VND1.1 trillion ($47 million) from medium-term State budget capital in the 2021-2015 period.

Capital set aside for traffic projects in Thanh Hoa
The Ministry of Transport will prioritize nearly VND15 trillion ($639.58 million) in medium-term public investment capital to implement a number of urgent traffic projects in northern Thanh Hoa province. These projects are expected to give a “push” to the province’s socio-economic development.

Construction of 2 sections of Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway on horizon
The Dau Giay - Lien Khuong Expressway stretches 220 km and connects southern Dong Nai province and the central highlands’ Lam Dong province, playing an important role in socioeconomic development in Lam Dong and the wider central highlands region. The Ministry of Transport and Lam Dong province are therefore moving to complete procedures and soon begin construction of two component projects, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu and Tan Phu - Bao Loc sections, with total investment of more than VND24.5 trillion ($1.05 billion) in the public-private partnership (PPP) form.

MoT approves Cao Bang bypass
The 7.5-km Cao Bang city bypass, with total investment of nearly VND222 billion ($9.66 million) from the State budget, has been approved by the Ministry of Transport (MoT). After being “suspended” for more than six years, the project is expected to be completed in 2024.

Ugrades approved for National Highway 12A in Quang Binh
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has approved a project to upgrade an 11-km section of National Highway No. 12A passing through central Quang Binh province, with total investment of VND475 billion ($20.9 million). The highway plays a special role in socio-economic development and security and defense in the central region in general and Quang Binh in particular.

Plan for East North-South Expressway completed
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has completed the plan for the construction of the East North-South Expressway project in the 2021-2025 period, in which 12 component projects, with a total estimated length of about 729 km, will require total capital of some VND118.67 trillion ($5.18 billion).
