MoT boosting disbursement to beat deadline
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) is making efforts to speed up disbursement of more than VND20 trillion ($804.3 million) in capital, or 40.1 per cent of the plan, before the deadline at the end of January 2023, in particular focusing on key projects such as the North - South Expressway and ODA projects.

Con Dao Airport to be upgraded by 2024
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has made an announcement on the progress of a project to renovate and expand Con Dao Airport, off the coast of southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. The ministry directed relevant agencies and units to complete the necessary procedures and deploy the project soon, so it is put into operation in 2024.

Capital coming for transport infrastructure in Binh Thuan
According to the Ministry of Transport (MoT), south-central Binh Thuan province will receive budget funds of about VND16.12 trillion ($697.6 million) in the 2021-2025 period to complete five projects and start two new projects, including National Highway No. 28B, and upgrade its section of the Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City railway link.

Major transport projects coming to Mekong Delta
The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has developed five national specialized plans for the 2021-2030 period and vision to 2050 on roads, railways, maritime, waterways, and aviation. Priority is being given to investment projects in the Mekong Delta. In the 2021-2025 period, the region will receive investment of VND50.7 trillion ($2.22 billion), accounting for 20 per cent of the transport industry’s total investment.
