Transport projects added to key national projects
Four highway projects and the T3 passenger terminal project at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and associated traffic routes were approved by the Prime Minister for addition to the list of key national projects and key transport projects. He also asked that expressway projects begin before June 30, 2023.

Food prices putting pressure on inflation
Food prices increased 2.3 per cent year-on-year in August; the highest rise since November 2020 and the fourth consecutive month of higher prices. Transport services increased 8.94 per cent year-on-year in the month; the lowest level since April. The Bao Viet Securities Company (BVSC) has forecast that annual inflation will come in at around 3.1-3.5 per cent.

MoF: Prices unlikely to fall quickly
The price of essential goods and transportation remain expensive, despite the price of gasoline being cut on four different occasions. The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has said that the large number of interwoven factors and certain items long having higher input material costs means it is not possible to cut prices immediately and some delay will be experienced.
