Cyber security firms’ 2024 revenue hits $32.8mln
Number of cyber security enterprises on the rise in the opening months of the year as cyber attacks fall.
Vietnam’s cyber security sector has posted revenue of VND804 billion ($32.8 million) so far this year, a year-on-year increase of 46.8 per cent, figures from the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) show.
There were 132 cyber security enterprises operating in the industry during the period, up 5 per cent year-on-year and employing 3,881 people, up 11.1 per cent.
The ministry also reported that over 1,800 cyber attacks had been recorded, down 38 per cent year-on-year.
Regarding key tasks for the upcoming second quarter, the MoIC said it will build and issue handbooks on ensuring cyber security at different levels and build documents guiding cyber security for ministries and localities.
The ministry will also report to the government on the implementation of the national strategy on cyber security and safety through 2024 and the master plan on cyber security human resources training and development in 2021-2025 period.
