Exports forecast to rise 7.21 per cent or 8.43 per cent in CIEM report.

Vietnam’s economic growth in 2023 has been forecast at 6.47 per cent under one scenario mapped out by the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) at the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Exports for the year are projected to increase 7.21 per cent and average inflation is forecast at 4.08 per cent.

Under the second scenario, CIEM predicts economic growth of 6.83 per cent, with exports to rise 8.43 per cent and average inflation to come in at 3.69 per cent.

The “Vietnam’s economy in 2022 and prospects for 2023” report, released by CIEM on January 12, re-emphasizes that policy priorities need to continue to be focused on economic institutions moving in a more friendly direction and effectively handling risks in a rapidly-changing global economic environment.
