2024 export revenue expected to record $380 bln
Export value reaching nearly $227 billion in 7M.
2024 export revenue is expected to make a new record of $380 billion, following positive growth in the past seven months, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
In January-July period, total export value stood at $226.98 billion, a year-on-year growth of 15.7%, figures from the General Statistics Office showed.
Key markets included the US, China, EU, South Korea, Japan and ASEAN.
From now to the year end, exports are forecast to enjoy significant growth with increasing demand from these markets, particularly for products like wood, wood products and garment and textiles.
In the first half of the year, the garment and textile industry gained export revenue of $16.52 billion, up 4.6% year-on-year. Many businesses have received orders through October this year, according to Vietnam’s largest textile and garment maker, Vinatex.
Meanwhile, export turnover of wood and wood products was estimated at $7.5 billion, surging 23.1% year-on-year.
