2024 seafood export forecast to hit $10 bln
Vietnam earning $9.2 billion from seafood export in the first 11 months.
Seafood export from Vietnam is forecast to hit $10 billion this year, according to the Viet Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).
In the first 11 months of the year, total aquatic export value was estimated at nearly $9.2 billion, surging 11.5% compared to the same period last year.
In the last two months, seafood export gained impressive results, reaching over $1 billion and $924 million in October and November, respectively.
Key export products are predicted to record high growth by the year end with shrimp forecast to reach $4 billion, tra fish $2 billion and tuna $1 billion.
China, the US, the EU, Japan and the Republic of Korean are among main importers of Vietnamese seafood.
