7M agro, forestry, and fisheries exports hit $29.13bln

Fruit and vegetable exports rise 68.1%.

Vietnam earned $29.13 billion from exporting agriculture, forestry, and fisheries products in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year decline of 9.1 per cent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In July alone, export revenue stood at $4.62 billion, a 5.3 per cent increase compared to July 2022.

Export of seafood and forestry were down 25.4 per cent and 25.5 per cent year-on-year, respectively, during the seven-month period, to $4.95 billion and $7.79 billion. However, shipments of agricultural products rose 13.2 per cent year-on-year to $14.99 billion.

Groups of agricultural products posting remarkable growth in exports included fruit and vegetables, rice, animal husbandry products, cashew nuts, and coffee. Export turnover of fruit and vegetables saw a remarkable increase of 68.1 per cent year-on-year, earning $3.23 billion.

Regarding export markets during the period, Asia took the lead with export value of $14.06 billion, up 2.3 per cent year-on-year. Exports to the US totaled $6.52 billion, down 29.2 per cent, and to the EU $3.29 billion, down 13.3 per cent.
