Air route connecting Hanoi with China’s Chengdu is to be resumed
Vietnam Airlines will reopen its direct flights on the route from June 25.
Vietnam Airlines will reopen its direct air route connecting Hanoi with China's Chengdu from June 25, according to a report from the Government News.
Its 4 flights per week will depart Hanoi on every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday for Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.
This is an important part of the carrier's strategy to develop its international flight network.
Currently, Vietnam Airlines is operating five routes between Vietnam and China, with a total of 33 round-trip flights per week.
China has become Vietnam's second largest source of tourists, with 358,000 arrivals over the first four months of 2024, according to official statistics
Vietnam has emerged as a leading destination for Chinese holiday-makers, digital travel platform Agoda reported, adding that the return of Chinese tourists' interest shows a bright prospect for Vietnam's tourism in the time ahead.
Agoda also said that tourists from China choose Viet Nam because of its rich culture and beautiful natural landscape. This year, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Da Nang and Phu Quoc pearl island has entered the top five choices of Chinese tourists, it reported.
