Ample room remains to promote trade cooperation between Vietnam and Russia’s Far East region, providing opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to boost export to this potential market, according to the Vietnam Trade Office Branch in the Far East region.
The Far East region has played a key role as a gateway for products exported from Vietnam to Russia.
Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Russia reached $1.56 billion in the first four months of the year, figures from the General Department of Vietnam Customs show.
Of which, trade activities between the two countries that were conducted via the Far East region were estimated at over $1 billion.
The bilateral trade between Vietnam and Russia's Far East has grown significantly, reaching $130 million in the first four months of the year.
Key Vietnamese products exporting to the Far East region include seafood, frozen food, processing food, agricultural products, light industry and consumption goods.
