Auto sales in May recorded a month-on-month increase of 6%
Among top ten brands in terms of sold vehicles, 4 belong to Toyota.
Some 25,794 vehicles from different brands were sold nationwide in May, making an increase of 6% compared to April, according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA)
Of these, 18,235 were passenger cars, up 6% month-on-month, while commercial vehicle grew 7% to 7,292.
In terms of vehicle origins, nearly 12,000 locally-assembled cars were sold in the month, up only 0.02%. Deliveries of completely-built units (CBUs) expanded 12% to 13,809 against a month earlier.
Top ten brands in terms of sold vehicles included Mitsubishi Xpander (1,766 units), Ford Ranger (1,477), Toyota Corolla Cross (996), Hyundai Accent (924), Toyota Yaris Cross (902), Mazda CX-5 (892), Ford Everest (811), Mitsubishi Xforce (802), Toyota Vios (766), and Toyota Veloz Cross (604).
VAMA members sold a total of 108,309 autos during the five-month period, with the sales of domestically produced units, falling 14% and imported vehicles rising 8% year-on-year.
