Businesses focusing on sustainable development dealing with pandemic
Many enterprises have been able to maintain stable operations based on their sustainable development strategies.
As the pandemic continues to cause ill-effects, businesses that have had a strong and persistent commitment to pursuing a sustainable development strategy for many years have maintained stable operations and growth.
With critical goals such as ensuring the health of workers and applying measures like the “three-on-the-spot” strategy in production to deal with the pandemic while ensuring production is not interrupted, many companies in Vietnam have recorded positive results. Moreover, the Covid-19 pandemic is also a push to transform business activities faster.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hue, Director of Communications & External Relations at AEON Vietnam, changing sales methods, maintaining employee morale, and maintaining the workforce have been bright spots for the retailer.
It is also necessary to develop a sustainable development strategy in ensuring safe production while living with the pandemic. Accordingly, in order for businesses to overcome the challenges and maintain sustainable business operations, Mr. Binu Jacob, Managing Director of Nestlé Vietnam, recommended that priority be given to the full vaccination of all production workers and contractors at essential food and beverage plants. It is also important for businesses to decide for themselves on choosing appropriate pandemic prevention and business models based on guidelines from the Ministry of Health.
According to Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Xuan, General Secretary of the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association (LEFASO), the sustainable development of enterprises must be associated with safe production in the context of living with the pandemic. It is therefore necessary to improve the autonomy of enterprises in responding to the pandemic, to maintain safe production.
