Businesses offering higher salaries to attract workers

Demand for workers is increasing and employers are offering improved salaries and conditions to recruit suitable candidates.

The recruitment activities of enterprises have been quite active in recent times as demand continues to increase, according to Mr. Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Employment Service Centers of Hanoi.

“Many workers are looking for jobs and sit for a large number of job interviews, both face-to-face and online,” he said.

At on online job session on March 17 connecting six cities and provinces, 84 businesses recruited more than 31,000 employees. Hanoi alone had 30 businesses participating, seeking to fill more than 1,300 vacancies.
Average salaries have increased, in line with abilities and experience.

At the VNPT Property Management Joint Stock Company, monthly salary packages for employees are in the range of VND25-30 million ($1090-$1310), depending on the position and the capacity of the candidate. The company also offers a wide range of other benefits, including bonuses, overtime allowances, and free training.

Meanwhile, due to market expansion, the Fintech Land Company is seeking to recruit 100 sales staff, 50 sales department heads, and ten sales managers. Monthly salaries are about VND70 million ($3055) for sales managers, VND50 million ($2180) for heads of the sales department, and VND30 million ($1310) for sales staff, excluding benefits.

Such salaries are attractive, but according to Ms. Pham Ngoc Anh, Head of the Human Resources Department at the Fintech Land Company, candidate requirements are also higher. For example, the position of sales manager requires experience in managing and operating a team, while business managers must possess certain knowledge on finance, real estate, and the stock market.

According to Mr. Thanh, in the “new normal”, it is forecast that tourism and services will both need larger workforces.
