Dai-ichi Life Vietnam - Towards the milestone of serving over 5 million customers

Despite the tough challenges in 2022, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam still posted impressive business results while being named the “Leading Healthcare Provider of the year 2022-2023” at VnEconomy / VET’s recent 22nd Golden Dragon Awards.

Leading life insurance brand

After 16 years of operations (2007-2023), Dai-ichi Life Vietnam, a 100 per cent Japanese-owned life insurance company, has recorded outstanding growth, with total premium revenue increasing 59-fold, customer numbers 14-fold, investment capital 53-fold, and asset value 82-fold.

It overcame many challenges last year to post total insurance premium revenue of nearly VND22 trillion ($941.34 million), an increase of 17 per cent compared to 2021 and representing a market share of 12.3 per cent. With after-tax profit of over VND2.7 trillion ($115.4 million), investment capital of nearly VND9.8 trillion ($419.06 million), and total assets of VND58 trillion ($2.4 trillion), Dai-ichi Life Vietnam ranks in the top 3 largest foreign life insurance companies in Vietnam.

The company is proud to serve more than 4.5 million customers and families through a workforce of 2,000 employees and 114,000 professional financial consultants, a large network of over 300 offices and general agencies in Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces, and 2,500 transaction points nationwide of reputable partners such as Sacombank, LienVietPostBank, SHB, Bac A Bank, ABBank, and VNPost, etc.

With its commitment to offering sustainable and value-added benefits to customers and their families, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam paid out claims of over VND3 trillion ($128.4 million) in more than 190,000 cases in 2022, bringing total payouts over the last 15 years to VND15 trillion ($641.7 million) in nearly 1.4 million cases. Dai-ichi Life Vietnam’s “Loyalty Bonus Point” program now has a total bonus point value of VND580 billion ($24.7 million) for customers, of which VND150 billion ($6.4 million) is accounted for the year 2022.

On top of its digital transformation strategy, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam continues to improve the Dai-ichi Connect App for customers. As of the end of 2022, more than 500,000 customers had access to Dai-ichi Connect and paid more than 4.5 million visits. The company also continuously expands its digital ecosystem with reputable partners such as Zalo, MoMo, Payoo, and Vi Viet, etc., and has upgraded its entire mAGP application to the Dai-ichi Success App for its financial consultants with a completely new interface and outstanding improved functions.

Along with its effective business efforts, for 16 years, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam has proudly pioneered initiating various meaningful CSR projects with a total contribution of more than VND60 billion, concentrated in four key areas: education, healthcare, the environment, and charity support.

It is expected that, in June, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam will introduce a new enhanced version of the healthcare product that integrates more superior benefits to protect customers in Vietnam and around the world. Dai-ichi Life Vietnam also continues to enhance the customer experience in using the Dai-ichi Connect platform, helping them be more proactive in taking care of themselves and their families.
