Domestic gold market kept stable amid global fluctuations
Experts attributing the stability of the domestic market to the central bank's effective solutions.
The price of SJC-branded gold bars in the domestic market was kept unchanged on August 15 compared to the previous day amid the plunge of the global price.
The gold bars were offered to the public at VND80 million ($3,173) per tael.
Meanwhile, the price of pure gold rings dropped by VND100,000 ($3.96) per tael to VND76-77.8 million ($3,014-3,086) a tael for buying and selling at DOJI.
In the global market, the gold price felt to $2,452.66 per ounce on August 15 after skyrocketing to $2,480 on the previous day.
At this level, gold price in Vietnam was around VND5.5 million ($218 million) a tael higher than world price.
Experts said gold market management measures taken by the State Bank of Vietnam recently have helped to stabilize the price of the SJC-branded gold bars amid the fluctuations of the global market.
