Dong Nai & Ha Nam provinces target attracting FDI
Two provinces set goals in FDI attraction for time to come.
Southern Dong Nai and northern Ha Nam provinces have set strategies to attract FDI in the post-pandemic period.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Deputy Chairwoman of the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, the province will further expand key sectors such as services, trade, airports, and logistics. It will also seek FDI projects that bring higher value, not just production projects as previously.
The province will expand its land fund and planning to prepare to receive capital as soon as major infrastructure projects come into being. It will also continue to improve the business environment and administrative reform and work with businesses. “Dong Nai will select investors who are interested in sustainable development strategies, such as applying green and environmentally-friendly technologies and bringing high efficiency in land and labor use and ensuring social security,” said Mr. Pham Van Cuong, Deputy Head of the Management Board of Dong Nai Industrial Parks.
Mr. Tran Xuan Duong, Deputy Chairman of the Ha Nam Provincial People’s Committee, said the province is focusing on attracting and developing businesses and industries such as high technology and processing and manufacturing. In order to prepare for a new wave of investment, especially in the post-pandemic period, it plans to build a new high-tech park on more than 500 ha.
It is also focusing on developing housing for workers, to promote companionship between workers and businesses, which plays an important role in the development of businesses and FDI attraction.
