Two projects to upgrade and expand provincial roads 25B and 25C of southern Dong Nai province have been included in a list of key projects under the provincial People's committee's recent decision.

This move aims to accelerate the implementation of the projects and connect them to the T1 route, one of the two main roads approaching the  Long Thanh International Airport which has been under contruction since 2021.

The transport connection between Ho Chi Minh City and the airport will be facilitated, as a result.

Roads 25B and 25C serve as vital arteries, connecting areas such as Cat Lai, Nhon Trach, and National Highway 51 with Long Thanh Airport. They will also alleviate traffic pressure on other expressways and provincial roads by providing an alternative route towards the neighboring  province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

According to the Long Thanh Airport construction plan, the two connecting routes, T1 and T2, will be the main arteries linking to expressways, ring roads, and national highways to handle passenger and cargo transport. These component projects are expected to be completed in 2025 to serve Long Thanh Airport operations.

Currently, bidding processes for the upgrade of the provincial road 25B and the upgrade and expansion of the provincial road 25C are underway, and their construction is scheduled to begin by the end of 2024. Both routes intersect with Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road No.3, facilitating the access to the Long Thanh Airport from the southern city.

The provincial road 25B, spanning over 9.2 km through Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts, has a total investment of nearly VND1.5 trillion ($59 million).

Meanwhile, the upgrade and expansion of the provincial road 25C involves construction of a new 2 km-long section with a total investment exceeding VND647 billion (nearly $25.5 million).
