Dutch High-Tech Firm VDL to Build Semiconductor Component Factory in Vietnam
VDL partners with Frasers Property Vietnam to expand manufacturing capacity in Southeast Asia, meeting growing demand.
VDL Enabling Technologies Group (VDL ETG), the advanced technology division of VDL Groep, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Frasers Property Vietnam on March 19th.
The agreement paves the way for the establishment of a new facility dedicated to the production of semiconductor manufacturing components within Frasers Property's Industrial Centre Dong Mai in Quang Ninh province.
VDL, known for its cutting-edge technology equipment serving the semiconductor, analytical, and health sectors, is set to construct a new factory in northeastern Vietnam.
Construction is slated to begin soon, with the goal of supplying international customers with the first modules from the new plant by the end of the first quarter or the beginning of the second quarter of 2025.
A representative of Frasers Property Vietnam expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: "We’re proud to be the next destination for VDL ETG on such a meaningful occasion, as this agreement signals the start of a partnership between a real estate developer in Vietnam like Frasers Property Vietnam and a high-tech group from the Netherlands. We look forward to working together in the years to come."
VDL Groep's growth strategy emphasizes global expansion across Europe, America, and Asia, catering to its customers' demands for enhanced global coverage and localized production.
This strategy involves investments on all three continents, with a primary focus on strengthening employment within existing European plants. VDL ETG already maintains a presence in Asia, with locations in Singapore and Suzhou, China.
The expansion into Vietnam aligns with VDL's broader growth agenda, initially employing around 60 personnel as it establishes a stronger foothold in Southeast Asia.
