EuroCham Vietnam’s Green Economy Forum 2023 set for November
November 2 Forum in Hanoi to include dialogues, a high-level plenary session, conferences, and networking opportunities.

Building on the success of the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2022, the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) will host its Green Economy Forum (GEF) 2023 on November 2 in Hanoi.
The Forum will feature insightful sustainability dialogues, a high-level plenary session, and comprehensive conference sessions, uniting industry leaders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates from the EU and Vietnam.
It will be hosted in cooperation with Team Europe partners, including the EU Delegation to Vietnam, the EuroCham Green Growth Sector Committee, all nine EuroCham Vietnam-affiliated European business associations, and an array of European countries.
During the announcement press conference for the GEF on September 28, newly-appointed Ambassador of the EU to Vietnam, H.E. Julien Guerrier, emphasized the significance of the Forum as a symbol of the ongoing cooperative efforts between Europe and Vietnam. He believes that such initiatives pave the way for a successful green transition, showcasing the strength of Europe-Vietnam cooperation.
Mr. Christoph Prommersberger, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Netherlands to Vietnam, reflected upon Vietnam’s sustainability goals for 2050. Drawing from Europe’s experiences, he highlighted the challenges of translating commitments into actionable results.
He pointed to the pivotal role the business community plays in green transition, especially when navigating new green EU regulations, such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). With these considerations, the Green Economy Forum is positioned to offer Vietnam and its businesses the necessary resources to meet and adapt to evolving global standards.
Mr. Dominik Meichle, EuroCham Vice-Chairman, noted that with Team Europe and EuroCham’s combined efforts, there is a mutual vision and cooperation. This is about progressing together towards a more sustainable future, fostering synergies between European and Vietnamese entities.
Mr. Stuart Livesey, EuroCham Board Member and Green Growth Sector Committee (GGSC) Vice-Chair, provided a comprehensive overview of the GEF. He detailed its significance and outlined the value proposition it presents to participants, emphasizing how it can empower attendees to navigate the green transition with confidence and insight.
Forum highlights will include practical knowledge-sharing, a high-level plenary session, networking opportunities, and focused conference sessions on key green topics.
At the high-level plenary session, the Forum is expected to welcome important attendees such as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, and Danish Energy Minister Dan Jannik Jørgensen.
The Forum will also see the participation of over 30 industry experts, featuring representatives from renowned companies such as BNP Paribas, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), Equinor, HSBC, Airbus, EDPR, and others.
As the world prepares for the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), the GEF offers a timely platform to underscore the significance of eco-conscious strategies and innovation.
By harmonizing discussions with the core objectives of COP28 and Vietnam’s National Green Growth Strategy, it aims to support Vietnam’s sustainability commitments and give its business community the tools it needs to achieve an equitable green economy.
