December 11 forum comes as Vietnam’s digital technology sector performing quite well in 2021.
The number of “Make in Vietnam” businesses has increased a great deal and they contribute not only to domestic but also international trade, according to a press conference announcing the third national forum on developing local digital enterprises, to be held on December 11 and expected to be attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
The Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) told the press conference that an estimated 5,600 new digital businesses were established this year, bringing the total to 64,000 nationwide.
Many digital enterprises have also switched to manufacturing 4.0 technology products. The ministry has announced 34 “Make in Vietnam” digital platforms to date. Digital technology enterprises such as VNPT, Viettel, CMC, and FPT have significant potential and make great contributions to the development of digital government and the digital economy with the construction of national digital platforms.
Vietnamese digital technology enterprises are not only processing and assembling for foreign countries but also producing domestic products such as digital transformation products and technology platforms.
Vietnam’s digital technology industry has posted growth of over 9 per cent this year; three-fold higher than GDP growth.
With the theme “Digital transformation - Driving force for economic recovery and development”, the forum will consist of two main sessions discussing digital enterprises resolving problems facing national digital transformation and digital enterprises to help sectors and fields in sustainable economic recovery and development during and after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The MoIC will also announce digital transformation goals for 2022 and subsequent years.
