FPT Long Chau partners with universities in AI application
Partnership expected to help FPT Long Chau pharmacies and company partners affirm the commitment to digital transformation to support a digital healthcare ecosystem.
FPT Long Chau and the VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC) and the International Research Center on Artificial Intelligence (BKAI) at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) signed a strategic cooperation memorandum on artificial intelligence (AI) technology on February 10.
The three parties will jointly research, develop, and apply VAIPE artificial intelligence technology, based on advanced technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science and have received research funding from the Vingroup Innovation Fund (VINIF) to improve the customer service experience at Long Chau pharmacies. The pharmacies are also more closely connected with users, providing convenience when accessing healthcare products at FPT Long Chau.
With the application of the VAIPE system, FPT Long Chau’s pharmacy chain is expected to help patients and families monitor the correct medication use, avoid errors, and automatically extract and identify information from prescription snapshots, helping with medication scheduling and management. Doctors can also access real-time patient health indicators and make necessary recommendations.
According to Mr. Hoang Trung Kien, General Director of FPT Retail, FPT has strived for many years to be the pioneer in the application of advanced technologies to provide convenience and improve quality of life.
“We want to improve quality of life for patients and share the same desire to be able to turn ‘digitized works’ applying modern AI technology, previously only in research units, into practical applications,” said Mr. Kien. “We strongly believe that through this comprehensive cooperation, the VAIPE system will be an effective arm to help support healthcare, meet treatment needs, and improve the community’s quality of life.”
Dr. Pham Huy Hieu, Deputy Director of the VISHC, noted that the cooperation between VinUniversity and HUST with FPT Long Chau helps VISHC’s technology products reach millions of users in Vietnam and creates practical benefits in monitoring, diagnosis, and treatment. “We believe this cooperation will provide more solutions to help shape the trend of digital transformation of the pharmaceutical industry in Vietnam,” he said.
Of a similar mind, Dr. Nguyen Phi Le, Director of BKAI, also expects the cooperation will contribute to realizing research results and creating useful solutions for Vietnamese people.
