Northern Hai Duong province hopes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) will help its investment promotion efforts become more effective, in-depth, and professional, a working session between a delegation from the Ministry and provincial leaders on December 24 heard.

Hai Duong wants to boost its image, promote investment, trade, and tourism activities, introduce its potential and strengths to foreign investors. The province expects MoFA to act as a bridge in holding meetings and exchanges between the province and major economic groups from other countries, especially famous names from Japan, South Korea, and Europe. It is also seeking new export markets for some of its strong products.

The province also hopes to gain support in creating information links with sponsors and investors, thus creating favorable conditions for its businesses to participate at international conferences on trade and investment, and in capturing information on Vietnamese expatriates in general and those from Hai Duong in particular to call for investment.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said MoFA will continue to support the province in promoting and attracting investment for infrastructure development and attracting FDI with high technology content.

Minister Son asked the province to provide documents relating to work that needs investment resources so that leaders of Vietnam’s representative offices can meet directly with economic organizations or large economic groups to attract investment in areas where the province has strengths, such as high-tech agriculture and industry with high technology content, among others.

Regarding the training of officials working in foreign affairs, MoFA said that in addition to the general training program of the government and the Ministry, if Hai Duong needs support in training, it will actively develop appropriate programs.
