Hai Phong port city posts impressive growth in 5M

Northern Hai Phong port city recorded impressive growth in the first five months of this year, with total seaport services revenue hit over VND3.16 trillion ($124 million), up 17.08% year-on-year, according to the city’s Statistics Office.

Total amount of cargo via the city's seaports reached 62.143 million TTQ, surging 9.56% compared to the same period last year.

Production of some key industries posted high growth in the five-month period, including computer and components up 134.41% year-on-year; wood products 41.3%; ship building 35.77% and household electronic products 31.28%.

Total retail sales of consumer goods and services reached over VND75.5 trillion ($2.96 billion), soaring 13.91% year-on-year.

The city’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) in the five months rose 3.28% year-on-year.
