Hanoi collects $393 in taxes from e-commerce
The city importing e-commerce data from over 366,000 e-commerce sellers.
The Hanoi Taxation Department collected tax worth VND10 trillion ($393 million) from e-commerce activities in the first six months of the year.
Of which, collection from e-commerce platforms reached VND2.5 trillion ($98.2 million), according to the department.
The department has focused on tax management and monitoring of businesses, households, and individuals generating revenue from e-commerce activities.
The department has coordinated with the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee to pilot e-commerce tax management in the district, enhancing communication and guiding taxpayers in filing and paying taxes according to the law, with initial success.
Hanoi has imported e-commerce data from 418 enterprises and trading platforms, nearly 670 digital businesses, and some 366,000 e-commerce sellers.
During the six-month period, the department conducted 6,678 inspections to prevent tax invasion.
