Hanoi to start construction of two metro lines in Q4
Construction of the metro line No.2 and No.5 scheduled to start in October and December this year, respectively.

The Hanoi People’s Committee has requested investors and contractors to prepare to begin construction of the Urban Railway Line No.2 in October and the Line No.5 in December this year as scheduled.
The metro line No.2 has a total length of 11.5km, running between Nam Thang Long on Pham Van Dong route and Tran Hung Dao street in the inner area of the capital city. It will feature 10 stations, including three elevated and seven underground stations. Total investment capital is estimated at VND35.6 trillion ($1.34 billion).
Construction of the line is scheduled to start on October 10, 2025.
The metro line No.5, which will connect Van Cao street, Ngoc Khanh street, and Lang - Hoa Lac boulevard (Thang Long boulevard), has a total length of over 38km. It consists of six underground and 15 elevated stations. Its total investment capital is estimated at VND61.9 trillion ($2.34 billion).
Construction is expected to kick off on December 19, 2025.
